Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin
📍 Noordwijk, The Netherlands
🏷 Sector: Luxury Hospitality
🧴 Scent: From the Transduce Collection
📝 Notes: Bergamot · Benzoin · Lavender
The Challenge
How do you translate timeless coastal elegance into scent without falling into clichés of sea breeze or synthetic florals?
The hotel wanted to create a warm, refined atmosphere that aligns with its identity: high-end, welcoming, calm and stylish. The scent had to enhance the entrance experience by making guests feel welcome and it needed to work within the large luxurious lobby.
Our Approach
Instead of a fully bespoke fragrance, we proposed a selection from our Transduce Collection - a curated library of essential oil blends, each designed for specific emotions and spatial moods.
After analyzing the space and guest profiles, we selected three possible scents. The hotel ultimately chose Comfort, a warm, elegant fragrance with subtle familiarity.

COMFORT
“A quiet invitation to unwind. The gentle freshness of bergamot meets the warm depth of benzoin and the calm of lavender. Like linen sheets after sun and sea.”
This scent felt natural in the space – refined yet approachable. It gave the lobby a cohesive emotional tone: soft, calming, and rooted in understated luxury.
The Result
1. Guests immediately remarked on the pleasant, reassuring atmosphere upon arrival
2. The scent became part of the hotel’s identity – recognized by returning guests
3. Positive feedback from staff on its subtlety and natural feel
