The Assignment
Amstelhof is a place in Uithoorn where wellness, sport and hospitality come together as one. The challenge was to extend this holistic philosophy into a subtle scent experience that could seamlessly enhance the member's journey, from arrival at the reception to time spent in the changing rooms and wellness areas. The scent needed to feel natural, yet able to mask bad odors and create a great experience for members.
Our Approach
Together, we mapped the emotional needs of each space. At reception, a warm and welcoming fragrance was introduced to set the tone of hospitality from the very first step inside. In the changing rooms and wellness areas, a more rejunivating blend of Orange & Peppermint was chosen to encourage transition into a state of balance. The guiding principle was subtlety: scents that guests would feel rather than notice, seamlessly integrated into all spaces.
COMFORT
“A quiet invitation to unwind. The gentle freshness of bergamot meets the warm depth of benzoin and the calm of lavender. Like linen sheets after sun and sea.”
This scent felt natural in the space – refined yet approachable. It gave the lobby a cohesive emotional tone: soft, calming, and rooted in understated luxury.
The Result
1. Fragrance integrated in reception, changing rooms, and wellness spaces to support a seamless member's journey
2. Members consistently describe the spaces as pleasant and harmonious in customer surveys
3. Scent strengthened the identity of Amstelhof as a place where everything is designed with care and intention
